Message from Wyatt
As a member of the Longman community, you deserve a member of parliament who will not only listen to your needs and aspirations but be a strong voice to help you achieve your goals. I have the energy, commitment and determination to achieve real progress for this community and that is what drives me to seek your support.
I believe this is a defining moment in our history and nowhere is this more evident that in Longman. The future of our economy is at risk with Labor recklessly governing without any determination to stop waste and mismanagement.
The Liberal National Party has the answers to managing growth on a sustainable basis; to help all people who want to work find a job and be paid a fair wage; and the ability to create an economic environment in which people can feel confident to go into business.
As part of the Liberal National Party team, I am guided by a fundamental commitment to honesty, integrity and accountability in politics. I will be the strong voice Longman deserves and will drive a long-term approach to politics that would see Labor’s accident-prone, crisis management and band aid fixes replaced with sensible decision-making that will secure Australia’s prosperity for future generations.
I am committed to being a strong advocate for locals – ensuring that we get a fair go – and that there are real opportunities for us to thrive as a region. I want to ensure individuals, businesses and the community are offered real opportunities rather than hindered by Labor’s red tape, waste, tax and mismanagement.
My personal approach is one of proactively working with people across all areas at a local grass roots level. This may be working co-operatively with care professionals, doctors and nurses to achieve real positive outcomes for locals, or working directly with local environment groups to sustain and enhance our diverse local environment. Equally it, might be through empowering locals, businesses and community groups to have a say on the future development of our area.
It is my belief that with the right approach to government and politicians that are not afraid to stand up for their community, our best years as a region are ahead of us.
Sincerely

Wyatt Roy- Liberal National Party candidate for Longman
Endorsements for Wyatt

“I think Wyatt has ample capacity to be an effective local member and make a significant contribution to the national polity. Everyone who has met Wyatt is impressed.”
Warren Truss, Federal Leader of the National Party
“I think Wyatt Roy is an exciting prospect for the future. I’ve got to know him quite well – he lives not very far from me. He’s a very bright young man who has enormous potential if he is elected to Parliament. I’ve got no doubt he’d be a minister within a decade. Maybe one day he’d be prime minister at a very early age.”
Dr Andrew Hindmoor, Associate Professor of Politics and Senior Lecturer in Public Policy at UQ
“Although I am not myself a natural supporter of the LNP I can see that Wyatt would make an excellent representative for Longman.”
Greg Hunt, Federal Shadow Minister for Climate Action, Environment and Heritage
“I believe that Wyatt has the potential to contribute to national politics and to policy in a number of areas. He has the energy and enthusiasm that are needed and the passion to speak with confidence and win over an audience.”
Alex Somlyay, Federal Coalition Whip
“Wyatt has so much ability and handles himself very well. He’s an exceptional person for his age.”
David Gibson Queensland Shadow Minister for Infrastructure and Planning
“The past 3 years of the disastrous policies of the Rudd Government have left Queenslanders desperate for a change. We now need candidates who will bring energy and a commitment to return conservative values back to Canberra and Wyatt has those qualities. He is someone who knows how to listen to his community and to inspire people to get involved.”
